Britmead is well located towards the southern end of West Bay Road, a very safe, well established and sought after residential area, just five minutes from the beautiful West Bay. There is easy access to open countryside from the guesthouse and many local walks to enjoy from the doorstep.

The thriving and vibrant market town of Bridport is only 1 mile away boasting an excellent and comprehensive range of facilities including both national and independent shops, cafes, restaurants and pubs, the Electric Palace cinema and theatre, the Bridport Arts Centre, the Bridport Leisure Centre and supermarkets including Waitrose, Morrisons, Lidl and Co-op. Bridport market is held twice weekly on a Wednesday and Saturday.

To the East, the seaside town of Weymouth is around a 35 min drive and if you take the coast road you can enjoy the stunning Dorset countryside taking you past the famous Chesil Beach and through the picturesque village of Abbotsbury, with its attractions including the Sutropical Gardens, the Abbotsbury Swannery and St Catherine’s Chapel.

From Weymouth you have easy access to Portland and local attractions including the famous Portland Bill Lighthouse. A little further East you will discover Lulworth Cove & Durdle Door amongst a wealth of other amazing attractions.

To the West around a 20 min drive away taking you past Thorncome Beacon and Golden Cap, you have the famous fossil beaches of Charmouth with its excellent visitor centre, who also offer guided fossil discovery walks ensuring that you do not go home empty handed.

Just 10 mins further West brings you to the stunning town of Lyme Regis with its famous cobb harbour, museums, entertainment and sandy beach.

The beautiful County town of Dorchester is around a 25 min drive and offers a mainline rail service to London Waterloo as well as boutique shopping, cinemas and other attractions.

Whether you’re walking the South West Coast Path, cycling the stunning Dorset countryside, heading to the beach for a swim or a sunset stroll, or exploring the cliffs, coves, fossils and coastal trails of the Jurassic Coast… Britmead Guesthouse puts you right where you want to be.
